Terms of Reference for Expert on Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and AI Tools
Introduction:
Deutsche Welle Akademie in the framework of the project ‘’Digital innovation for peace’’, funded by the European Union, is looking to engage an expert to provide training on Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. This initiative is aligned with our commitment to empowering media professionals and journalists, particularly those operating in conflict-affected areas, to enhance their skills in navigating the evolving landscape of media and information. The training is expected to be implemented in July 2024.
“Digital innovation for peace” is a project aiming to make societies in the MENA region, specifically Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon, more resilient to disinformation and supportive to the promotion of peace in the digital space.
Objectives:
- Equip participants with essential utilizing of OSINT tools for information gathering and analysis.
- Foster critical thinking and analytical abilities in media professionals.
- Enhance participants’ understanding of OSINT tools and techniques for journalists.
- Strengthen the capacity to counter disinformation and promote accurate reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering a comprehensive 2-day training program online via Zoom.
- Developing training materials, including presentations and interactive activities.
- Facilitating discussions and practical exercises to reinforce key concepts.
- Submitting a detailed training report, including participant assessments and recommendations for future programs.
- Provide a short summary of the training highlights and an article 1day.
Duration and time frame:
The contract will be issued for a maximum of 3 working days, and 1 day of preparation. The implementation period is in July 2024.
Remuneration and payment:
Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications in PDF, including a detailed CV, indicating their relevant experience, and a proposed daily rate for the training program.
Payment will be processed in Euro via bank transfer upon successful completion of the training program and submission of an invoice.
