Media in Libya
Our Goals
One of the main goals of the project is the contribution to the stabilization of Libya through a sustainable fight against disinformation’s spread in Libya, to provide Libyans with improved access to independent and accurate information also for young Libyans to be resilient to disinformation and to be able to identify and classify fake news on social media to assure that Libyan fact checking efforts are in line with the international standards, for the Libyan fact-checker scene to ultimately become part of global fact checking initiatives.
What are our goals?
We aim to

enhance the capacities of Libyan media professionals and their journalistic standards especially on digital level and safety

facilitate capacity building for Libyan fact-checkers and other media professionals from all regions in Libya to assure that Libyan fact checking efforts are in line with international standards

achieve the objective of the Libyan fact-checker scene to become part of global fact checking initiatives

support a network of different fact-checking platforms that enables fact-checkers to exchange information and professionalize their offers

support the Libyan fact checking network (LFCN) to have the signatory of the international fact checking network (IFCN) – by Libyans for Libyans
